Set Your Car Once & Site Customizes For It

When considering an upgrade for your Honda Civic, you often consider the pros and cons that might come along with altering any component of your car. With that, the PRL Engine / Motor Torque Mount is one option to take a close look at! Being that PRL wanted to break the norm and not just simply produce another rear engine mount, they ended up with what could be considered the best all-around engine mount upgrade on the market.

The PRL Rear Engine Mount features a billet 6061 aluminum main body, with a proven I-Beam design that is common on most engine mount upgrades. What sets it apart, however, is the isolators they chose to use. Typical replacement upgrades feature polyurethane bushings pressed into an aluminum body, with a steel inner sleeve at the engine and subframe connections. The PRL rear lower engine mount deviated from this trend and went with an EPDM rubber bushing with integrated inner and outer steel sleeves.

Choosing to go with EPDM might not seem practical for a performance upgrade, but it ends up working perfectly and nets a minimal increase in NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness). This means you have a much more responsive torque and drive feel, while keeping rattling and shuddering to a minimum.

Along with this, EPDM typically has a longer lifespan when compared to polyurethane, and is impervious to atmospheric elements (heat/ozone/weather), chemicals, solvents, abrasives, tearing and vibration. And to continue with ensuring longevity out of their rear engine mount upgrade, the inner and outer bushings sleeves are Zinc-coated to further aid in corrosion resistance.

Key Features:
  • CNC Machined 6061 Aluminum I-Beam Body.
  • 60A Hardness EPDM Bushings.
  • Zinc Plated Inner and Outer Bushing Sleeves.
  • Impervious to weather elements, solvents, tearing, etc.
NVH Notes: As with all performance engine mounts and inserts, you should also expect to feel a small increase in NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) entering the cabin. These vibrations can actually allow you to be more "in tune" with what the engine is doing and how it is performing. As a result you can expect to feel more connected to your Honda Civic.
