Includes new gasket and screws.

The TPS or Throttle Position Sensor is responsible for relaying the throttle angle information to the vehicle's ECU for use with fuel calculations. A faulty TPS can cause driveability issues including running too rich or lean, stumbling, misfires, and loss of power. A properly calibrated and functioning TPS can restore lost power and response for vehicles with these issues. Unfortunately most dealerships will not sell this sensor separately and only offer a new sensor if you buy the entire throttle body assembly!

We sell the BLOX TPS sensor separately as an alternative to purchasing an entire throttle body assembly from the dealership. If you have an aftermarket throttle body without a TPS (such as the Skunk2 ones that we sell) or a stock throttle body with a malfunctioning TPS, a new TPS sensor can be installed and calibrated to help your engine function properly.

TPS Replacement Notes: The stock TPS is installed on the throttle body with special screws. After the screws have been tightened at the factory, the heads are removed to prevent adjustment of the throttle position sensor. There are two common ways to remove the TPS sensor from a stock throttle body for replacement. The "heads" of the screws can be removed carefully with a drill bit or hack saw and the "studs" can then be unscrewed with a pair of vice grips after the TPS has been uninstalled. The second common method requires that a straight grove be cut in the "head" of the fastener with a cutting wheel or hack saw. After a grove has been cut a common flat head screw driver can be used to unscrew the fasteners holding the TPS in place. After uninstalling the old TPS the new BLOX TPS should be installed on the throttle body using common M5 screws and calibrated for proper operation. Some TPS include a gasket and replace screws making the job a bit easier.

TPS Calibration Notes: After installing a new TPS Sensor, it MUST be calibrated for proper operation. This can be done using a 12 volt multi-meter on the vehicle. On the TPS Sensor connector there are 3 wires (usually yellow red and green). Check the voltage between the signal and ground wires of the sensor (usually yellow and green, but please consult your ETM to be sure). With the connector plugged into the sensor and the ignition key in the "On" position (key ON but engine OFF) adjust the sensor so that there is approximately 0.5V with the throttle fully closed and 4.5V with the throttle in the wide open position. After adjusting the sensor position the screws should be tightened to prevent the sensor from moving. This process is fairly simple for most mechanically inclined people, but if you have questions feel free to contact us
